Within the park’s swamp, Sandhills, mountain bluffs & hardwood forests are plants that typically thrive in Upcountry habitats & species that are normally found in Lowcountry habitats. The park’s cabins, picnic shelters & other historic structures are excellent examples of the quality craftsmanship of the Civilian Conservation Corps, which built the park in the 1930s. This 1,000-acre park also features a family campground, equestrian campground, fishing lake, trails & access to the Palmetto Trail system, which links to adjacent Manchester State Forest. The campground provides twenty-five sites with individual H2O & electrical hookups, & twenty-five tent sites with individual water. Some sites accommodate RV's up to 40 feet. The campground is convenient to restroom facilities with hot showers. Camping clubs are allowed to reserve up to 25 sites.
