| Description: Elevation 6600 - 9100 ft. The air is exceptionally clear in Bryce Canyon, making the views all the more spectacular. Bryce Canyon is one of a number of natural ampitheaters carved from the Paunsaugunt Plateau. "Hoodoos," fantastically eroded & colorful formations, are the highlight of this park, & can be enjoyed while hiking, camping, or driving the scenic loop. A visitor center offers exhibits & additional information. Commercial lodging is available at Bryce Canyon Lodge, open during the height of the season.
Location: From north or south on U.S. 89, turn east on Utah 12 (seven miles south of Panguitch) & travel to the junction of UT 12 & 63. Turn south (right) on UT 63 & travel three miles to reach the park entrance. UT 12 continues east through the northern portion of the park.
