Campground: Cedar Breaks National Monument

Description: All visitor facilities & the loop drive are at or above 10,000 feet. A grand natural amphitheater carved by aeons of erosion creates a 3-mile long, 2000-foot deep canyon of breathtaking & otherworldly beauty. There are a number of short hikes to scenic overlooks from the rim, but due to the high elevation, they are only recommended for those who are sturdy & acclimatized. Remember that temperatures on the arid desert floor are much warmer than those in the spruce & pine forests on the rim. There is one campground with 30 sites. Location: Visitors traveling south on I-15, exit at Parowan, then take UT 143 east, to the monument. Visitors traveling north, on I-15 exit at Cedar City, then take UT 14 east for 18 miles, then UT148 north, four miles to the monument. Visitors traveling on U.S. Highway 89 can take either UT 143 from Panguitch to Cedar Breaks, or UT 14 west, to UT 148, then north to the monument. Season: year round Reservations: no.
