Campground: Camping on the Battenkill

Here at the campground the most frequently asked question is "What is the Battenkill?" The Battenkill is the name of the trout stream on which the campground is located. Batten means luxurious living, & Kill is the Dutch word for river. Within the 35 acres of the campground there are 48 sites in hardwoods, 37 in a partially wooded area, & 18 in our meadow. Our generously spaced graveled sites are suited to tent camping as well as RV camping. You can choose from a basic site with no hook ups, electric & H2O sites, or a site with complete hook ups. Some sites, located on the river, are considered prime sites & are booked quickly for the summer months for week long stays. Group camping is limited to the months of May, June & September. No motor cycles, mini bikes or mopeds are allowed beyond the office.
