| Allis State Park is named after Wallace Allis who willed his Bear Mountain Farm to the state of Vermont to be developed as a campground & recreational area. It is located on the summit of Bear Mountain. There is a fire tower located at the picnic area from which there are excellent views of central Vermont. On a clear day, Killington, Pico, & Ascutney peaks are visible to the south; Camel's Hump & Mt. Mansfield to the north; Abraham, Lincoln, & Ellen to the west; the White Mountains of New Hampshire to the east. |
