Campground: Central Ferry State Park

Description: 185 acres on Lake Bryan, a reservoir formed on the Snake River by Little Goose Dam. Surrounded by arid highlands, the 10,000 reservoir makes a cool playground during hot summers. Fishing for bass & crappie in the lake, as well as boating & waterskiing. Boat facilities include four ramps, two H2O ski docks, a marine pumpout, & navigation locks at Little Goose Dam (12 mi downstream) & Lower Granite Dam (23 mi upstream). The park geology offers a clear picture of the last million years or so, with basaltic lava flows, Pleistocene glaciation & prehistoric mammal habitation. The campground has 68 campsites, including 60 with full RV utility hookup & eight primitive, walk-in tent-ony sites. The day use area offers a swimming beach, a bathhouse, volleyball court, horseshoe pits, & shaded picnic areas. A group camping area can hold up to 150 people, & has its own horseshoe pit, volleyball court, & picnic area. Location: From Pomeroy, go 13 miles west on US 12, then ten miles north on WA 127. Season: year round, gates close at dusk.
