| Description: 4131 acres contain old growth forests, sand dunes, rugged cliffs which tower over the extensive shoreline, & four lakes on Whidbey Island. Visitors enjoy boating & fishing in either the lakes or the Puget Sound, sailboarding, swimming in the lakes, or clamming & crabbing on the beach. Over 38 miles of trails await the hiker, including a wheelchair-accessible nature trail.
The campground has 261 sites, including 178 tent-only sites, & 83 with full RV hookup. An ampitheater is available for interpretive programs, which include weekend lectures & slideshows. An interpretive center is at Bowman Bay.
Location: From I-5, north of Seattle, take exit #230 & go 18 miles west on WA 20. Also accessible from the Mukilteo-Clinton Ferry, via WA 525 & WA 20.
Season: year round; gates close at dusk.
