| Description: 784 acres on Admirality Inlet, featuring many historic structures from the fort, which saw active service from 1897-1953. An onsite military museum offers a glimpse into life at this remote outpost. A high bluff towers above the sandy beach, from which you can see the Olympic Mountains to the west & the Cascade Range to the east. Offshore fishing is good for salmon, rockfish, & halibut; there is also crabbing & clamming on the shore. Boating, jet-skiing & waterskiing are all popular in the inlet, & the park offers both boat ramps & extensive moorage. About ten miles of trails are open to hiking & mountain biking, not including the 3.5 miles of beachfront.
Picnic tables are scattered throughout the park, some with shelters, & one kitchen shelter is available. The campground contains 115 sites, including 14 with full utility hookups, & two primitive group camps, which hold up to 40 people each. Primitive boat-in sites on the Cascade Marine Trail. Three historic homes are available for short term rental, which vary from two to four bedrooms. For larger groups, facilities at the Fort Flagler Environmental Learning Center can accomodate between 29 & 261 people, & the facilities include a dining hall, fully outfitted kitchen, & restroom/showers.
