Campground: Illahee State Park

Description: 75 acres on the H2O, with lovely views of Puget Sound. Boaters can The last stand of old growth forest in the county is preserved here, as well as one of the largest yews in the country. Many visitors enjoy the access to the ocean, fishing, boating, swimming, diving, waterskiing, crabbing, clamming, & digging for oysters. Facilities include 20 campsites, & one RV site with full utility hookups. Kitchen shelters are available at the picnic area. A half-mile nature trail offers some insight on the area ecology. Horseshoe pits, a softball field, a playground, & a volleyball court are available. Location: From Bremerton, go three miles north on WA 303, then 1.5 miles east on Sylvan Way. Season: year round; gates close at dusk. Reservations: for kitchen shelters; call 360-478-6460.
