| Description: 127 acres on Lake Chelan, bordering the Wenatchee National Forest. The lakeshore includes a long, sandy beach & well-developed boating facilities. Visitors enjoy fishing for salmon & trout in the lake, also waterskiing, swimming, & jetskiing. The weather here is very sunny & temperate, making the lake & shady surrounding forest a popular summer destination. Area wildlife includes numerous waterfowl & songbirds, as well as large mammals in the surrounding forests, such as deer, elk, bear, & bobcats.
The campground has 144 sites, including 35 with full RV utility hookups. A large grassy field is available for ball sports. A ferry runs daily from here, bringing visitors to Stehekin & Lake Chelan National Recreation Area. Several monuments commemorate the long & checkered history of the area, from the days when the Salish people camped & hunted in the area, to real estate scandals & tragedies of the 20th century.
Location: From Chelan, go three miles south on US 97A, then six miles west on South Lakeshore Road.
