| Description: 111 acres of dense forest on the Puget Sound. At the turn of the century, this was an artillery installation, & torpedo warehouse built in 1901 is still standing. Since housing armaments, the historic building has seen many incarnations, including officers` club, bunkhouse, mess hall...and currently, picnic shelter & historic exhibit. Visitors also enjoy diving, hiking, & keeping an eye peeled for area wildlife, such as whales, sea birds & seals on the beach, & deer, foxes, & weasels in the forests.
The campground has 53 sites, including 15 with full RV utility hookups, & three primitive sites for people who choose to hike or bike in. An accessible group campground features 12 full utility hookups & a group shelter, & holds between 20 & 120 people. The torpedo warehouse can be reserved as a group shelter picnic shelter, & there are also two other picnic shelters. Other facilities include a volleyball court & a horseshoe pit.
Location: From Port Orchard, go about six miles east on Beach Drive, then north on the access road to the park.
