Campground: Maryhill State Park

Description: 99 acres on the Columbia River, against the Klickitat hills. A local eccentric, Sam Hill built both a castle for his wife (Mary Hill) but a scale model of Stonehenge, which is near the park. Boating , waterskiing, & swimming. Fishing in the river for bass, catfish, perch, salmon, steelhead, sturgeon & trout. The campground has 70 sites, 20 of which are tent-only. Group camping is also available. Location: From Goldendale, go 12 miles south on US 97. Season: limited facilities in winter. Reservations: for group camping, call 800-452-5687.
