| Description: 3522 acres jutting into the north end of Banks Lake, on the Upper Grand Coulee. The north end of the park is dominated by Steamboat Rock, a massive columnar basalt formation. A sand beach with boat launches is the destination for those who come to fish for bass, trout, perch, & walleye, or to boat, waterski, & swim in the surrounding lake. Others climb the technical routes up Steamboat Rock, ride horses or mountain bikes, hike, & in the winter, ski on groomed trails.
The campgrounds offer a total of 218 spaces, of which 100 have full RV utility hookup, 80 are primitive tent sites with no H2O & vault toilets, & 12 are primitive boat-in sites, which do have water. The group campground can hold up to 50 people. A group picnic area, which can be reserved, accomodates up to 200 people. A volleyball court is also available. Most of the park has grassy lawns, which are irrigated regularly during the summer.
