Campground: Twanoh State Park

Description: 182 acres near the Great Bend of the Hood Canal, boasting one of the warmest saltwater beaches of the state. Visitors enjoy wading, swimming, fishing for winter smelt & other saltwater fish, & harvesting oysters & crabs. The oyster beds are seeded annually. Hiking inland, through the glacially-carved landscape. Park facilities were mostly built by the CCC in the 1930s, & the landscape shows the result of extensive logging during the late 19th century. The campground has 25 tent-only sites & 22 with full RV utility hookups. A large picnic area has two group areas, which can hold up to 40 & 150 people, respectively. 200 feet of moorage is available for boaters. Location: From Beltair, go eight miles west on WA 106. Season: May one - October 31.
