| While traveling the Bozeman Trail today, the public lands on the way evoke the most significant events from the old days of the trail, from the heady excitement of the gold camp & territorial capitol at Bannack, to the indescribable tragedies of the Sioux wars. Location: I-90/US 87 from the Montana border west past Three Forks, & south on US 287 to Virginia City. A side trip includes the loop on the Crow tribal lands which leads to Pryor.
