Frequently Asked Questions

How much do campgrounds pay to be listed on RoadCamping?
Nothing, this directory is free. We make money on the Google Adsense program ads listed on most pages.
How do I search for camping along a highway?
Enter the highway number and all the highways with that number will appear. Pick the highway from the state you want.
The highway I wanted did not show up in the search. Why?
Currently we have no listings along that highway. When you travel along that highway ask camping owners why they are not listed with Roadcamping.com. Our directory is free!
Campgronds that are not next to the highway came up in my listing. Why are they listed?
Often there are wonderful places to stay just a few minutes off the highway. We have included those within 5 miles of highways in order to give you more options to choose from.
How many properties do you have to search from?
Roadcamping.com has at present 3000 listings and this number is growing rapidly.
Towns are appearing that are not next to the highway I selected?
Sometimes we come across an error, however in most cases the data is correct. If an error is found Contact Us.

Here is a case where the data is correct; a search of Highway 56 in Minnesota lists Hastings and St. Paul. But there is a small section of Highway 56 in St. Paul. Also, many highways overlap but only the primary highway is listed on the map.

How near are the cities and towns to the highway?
They are roughly 15 miles (as the crow flies) from the highways. In some cases this may mean more than 15 miles of driving.
